Warwick’s Friendly Visitor Program (FVP), a free service for older adults and adults with disabilities, is looking for new volunteers. A volunteer training session will be held on Fri., Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Albert Wisner Public Library, located at 1 McFarland Dr. in Warwick.
The program is run by the Town of Warwick in a partnership with the Office for the Aging and Jewish Family Service. Volunteers are needed to help older adults stay connected in their community and remain in their own home. Volunteers have an impact on the life of their neighbors, are trained, go through background checks at no charge to the volunteer, and are insured while they are volunteering.
The service is neighbors helping neighbors. Volunteers are matched with neighbors who request support. For more information or to register for the volunteer training session, call 986-1124, ext. 400.
