Walden Man Arrested on Gun Charges & Unlawfully Wearing Bullet Proof Vest
A Walden man was arrested on several charges following an incident on Ackerman Rd. in the Town of Warwick on Sun., Nov. 25. Police arrested Giovanni Coplin, 42, of Walden, at approximately 11:30 p.m. following a report of a window allegedly being broken at a residence. The caller provided police with a suspect and vehicle description that was transmitted to area agencies.
The Village of Greenwood Lake Police Department observed a vehicle matching the description and stopped it on Lakes Rd. Coplin was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and was wearing a bullet proof vest at the time of arrest. He was taken back to the Warwick Police Department for processing where he was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon, unlawfully wearing a bullet proof vest and criminal mischief in the second degree all felonies. He was also charged with several misdemeanor offenses. He was arraigned before Judge Peter Barlet, bail was set at $50,000 and he was remanded to Orange County Jail.
