The Warwick Historical Society will host a Party in the Park on Sat., Aug. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Lewis Park, located on Main St. in Warwick. The Society has partnered with local artist Carole Constant as they celebrate Warwick’s artists, past and present. Carole will be exhibiting some of her work at the event.
Party in the Park will feature cocktail-style dining, courtesy of The Landmark Inn, a signature cocktail designed by Black Dirt Distillery, craft beer from Glenmere Brewing Company, and homemade desserts. Music will be provided by Soulia and the Sultans, so bring your dancing shoes!
Carole’s piece, simply entitled, “Warwick, New York,” has been the featured piece on invitations, postcards, banners, and posters for Party in the Park. The limited edition print, which is done in a whimsical style, celebrates life in an area steeped in history and rustic beauty.
It begins with a vista as one comes over Mt. Peter and continues past the falls on Cascade Rd., to downtown Warwick with its lovely historic buildings. Beyond that are centuries old farm houses, barns, apple orchards, fields, cows, and horses, all the way to the black dirt district where crops are growing in abundance.
Carole is devoted full time to oil paintings of the Hudson Valley and the Great Southwest. To view Carole’s work, visit carolconstant.com. “Warwick, New York” and other limited edition prints are available for purchase at the Warwick Historical Society. For more information visit www.whsny.org.
The event is the Historical Society’s largest fundraiser. Tickets are $95 per person for Historical Society members and $125 for non-members and can be purchased by calling the Society at 986-3236, ext 101. Advance ticket sales only.
