The Warwick Lions Club has declared Sat., Mar. 25 as “Lon Tytell Day” in Warwick with a celebration from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Warwick Senior Citizen Center, located at 132 Kings Hwy. in Warwick. The community is invited to come and thank Lon Tytell for his years of service to the community which is more than anyone can imagine!
Lon was an elementary school teacher in the Warwick School District for 35 years. He has worked at the Warwick Valley Dispatch as a reporter and sales rep for many years. He served his Country for 23 years as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was also a member of the Warwick Jaycees where he created the Bicycle Safety Day. He has been a member of the Warwick Lions Club since 1978. As a member of the Jaycees and Lions Club, Lon chaired numerous projects and received several awards.
Everyone is welcome to share “Lon” stories. The Tytells, Lon and his wife, Rosita, will be moving to North Carolina in April. Light refreshments will be served.
