The Warwick Volunteer Fire Department assembled with local officials, members of the Police Department, volunteer emergency services men and women and members of the community at the 9/11 Memorial Monument in Veterans Memorial Park in the Village of Warwick on Sun., Sept. 11 for a Remembrance Ceremony honoring the fallen heroes and innocent victims of 9/11.
The seven Warwick residents who lost their lives were honored during the ceremony. Battalion Chief John P. Williamson, Lt. Michael N. Fodor, Lt. John F. Ginley, Lt. Stephen G. Harrell and Firefighter Bruce Van Hine were all members of the FDNY who died doing what they loved to do. They made the ultimate sacrifice and they will forever be remembered as heroes. The other two residents honored were attorney Linda Kristine Gronlund, who was aboard flight 93, and Peter Mark Gyulavary, an engineer who worked on the 91st floor of the South Tower.
