The Warwick Valley Central School District (WVCSD) in Warwick, NY has been recognized for outstanding achievement in educational communications by the New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA). Each year, NYSPRA sponsors one of the nation’s largest awards programs by recognizing outstanding achievement in educational communications.
In the 38th Annual NYSPRA Communications Awards competition, the Warwick School District received the following awards:
- Award of Honor/Excellence in Writing for HS Media Center/Communications Suite now a state of the art learning center, written by Louise Hutchison, WVCSD Communications Office. This website post and newspaper article introduces and explains the features of the renovated media center at Warwick Valley High School, which was transformed from a traditional library into a new, state of the art Media Center and Communications Suite.
- Award of Merit/Excellence in Writing for
Leadership opportunities abound for Warwick students, written by Maureen Westphal, WVCSD Communications Office. This website post and newspaper article described current and new district programs that develop leadership skills, key in educating students and preparing them for success after high school.

Connecting with friends after the final bell, taken by Louise Hutchison, WVCSD Communications Office. This photograph was taken overlooking the Warwick Valley High School lobby, a busy, central gathering place. The sharp angles of the shadows on the floor, contrasting with the shapes and angles of the rugs, add visual interest. It was posted on the District website homepage, in a large format rotating photo gallery which is updated on a regular basis.
