     During the Warwick Town Board meeting on Thurs., Jan. 16, Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton announced that Brenda Faulls, receiver of taxes, will be accepting online payments for the 2020 Town and County Real Property Tax Bills. There is a convenience fee that will be applied for this service and paid by the taxpayer to the payment processor.

     These fees are not included in the tax dollars paid to the collector.  The fees are as follows: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards; 2.45% of the total tax due upon receipt of payment; Visa Debit Card charge $3.95; and ACE electronic check (E check) $1.75.

     To make a payment online, visit the Town website at www.townofwarwick.org. Anyone wishing to make a payment in person can do so at the Warwick Town Hall. Tax collection hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mon. through Fri. in January and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mon. through Wed. and on Fri. during the months of February and March. Town Police Report

     Councilman Floyd DeAngelo reported that the Warwick Police Department handled a total of   1,488 calls for the month of December.  DeAngelo also reported that the police and fire department handled a total of 19,446 calls in 2019.

CPF Receipts & Clerks Report

     Supervisor Sweeton announced that community preservation receipts for the month of December were $145,976.47 which brings the total fund balance to $3,684,952.30.

     Town Clerk Eileen Astorino announced that the fees collected in the month of December were $9,233.66 and the fees paid out were $2,372.88

Building Department

     The Town Building Department ended the year with 1,044 permits issued, 1,010 certificates of compliance, handled 165 complaints, conducted 2,842 inspections, and issued 442 abstract items. The total amount of funds collected was $518,540.

     “It was a busy year for the Building Department and they continue to work very well with one full time code enforcer, only one part time assistant and two clerks. They do a job and it’s a busy department, which is good for the economy of the Town,” said Sweeton.

Public Hearing Scheduled

     The Board adopted a resolution to schedule a public hearing regarding the purchase of 85+ acres located at 45 Bowen Rd. The hearing will be held on Thurs., Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, located at 132 Kings Hwy. in Warwick.

Next Town Board Meeting

    The next regular meeting of the Town Board will be held on Thurs., Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.
