WFD Reminds Residents to Be Fire Safe

     The Warwick Fire Department (WFD) reports that for the week ending on Fri., Dec. 27, the Warwick FD has responded to 452 calls.

     The Warwick FD would like to wish all fellow Warwick residents a happy, safe and prosperous New Year. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and are grateful for the continued support to our Department during our 150th Anniversary celebrations.

     On Mon., Dec. 23, WFD companies completed apparatus and building checks. On Tues., Dec. 24, the Raymond Hose Company completed the annual Santa Run and attended the annual Old School Baptist Church Christmas Celebrations.

Firefighters Needed

Warwick EMS Members Needed

     The Warwick EMS Ambulance Service, located at 146 South Street Extension, is looking for members, ages 18 or older, to join their ranks. Contact Warwick EMS at 986-4047, visit www.warwickems.com, stop by Station 1 on the 1st Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., or come to the monthly meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7pm for an application. All of us at the Warwick FD support Warwick EMS and they need your help.

Warwick Fire Prevention Report

     The Warwick Fire Prevention team asks that residents please remember to change the batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Also remember to have homes checked, including boilers, water heaters and chimneys. Remember to always be Warwick Fire Safe!

Motor Vehicle Safety

     Over the past week the WFD has responded to multiple calls, including three rollover motor vehicle accidents.  The WFD reminds drivers to use caution while operating a motor vehicle. Maintain the posted speed limits and leave room between you and the vehicle ahead of you to allow ample stopping time.

Bowling Fundraiser

     WFD is hosting a Bowling with the Bravest fundraiser on Sat., Jan. 25. Doors open at 4 p.m. and bowling begins at 5 p.m. The cost is $35 per person. To order tickets, visit the WFD Facebook page.
