Female First Responders Honored for International Women’s Day

       In observance of International Women’s Day on Sun., Mar. 8, Hugs for Courage invited local female veterans and first responders to gather for a group photo in Veteran’s Memorial Park in Warwick.

      Members of the Warwick Fire Department, Warwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps., Warwick Police Department, and Warwick VFW Post #4662 Trustee Rosemary Decker, accompanied by other members of Post #4662, gathered on the chilly but brightly sunny afternoon for the photo.

      Village of Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard was present to extend his gratitude and respect for the job that these women do for the community.

      Mayor Newhard said, “Thank you for your service to our community…as women you bring something very unique and very special to the activities that you do.”
