Warwick Gardeners Donate Books to Local Libraries

The Warwick Valley Gardeners has made its annual book donation to the three local libraries in the Town of Warwick.  In total, nine adult gardening books and three children’s books have been added to the library stacks.  The committee worked with the libraries to find compatible books for the local communities.  

  The books donated to the Florida Public Library are as follows: Yard and Garden Furniture, 2nd Edition: Plans and Step-by-Step Instructions to Create 20 Useful Outdoor Projects by Bill Hylton; Starting & Saving Seeds:  Grow the Perfect Vegetables, Fruits, Herbs and Flowers for your Garden  by Julie Thompson Adolf; Raised Bed Gardening:  A Step-by-Step Beginner’s Guide to Start and Maintain a Thriving Garden, No Matter Where You Live by Jenny Kit; and Up in The Garden and Down in the Dirt by Kate Messner and Christopher Neal.  

   The books donated to the Greenwood Lake Library are as follows: The Garden Tourist: 120 Destination Gardens and Nurseries in the Northeast by Jana Milbocker; The Family Garden Plan: Grow a Year’s Worth of Sustainable and Healthy Food by Melissa K. Norris; Vegetable Gardening for Beginners: A Simple Guide to Growing Vegetables at Home by Jill McSheehy; and Easy Peasy: Gardening for Kids by Kirsten Bradley.

  The books donated to the Albert Wisner Public Library are as follows: The Gardens of Bunny Mellon by Linda Jane Holden; Preserving Summer’s Bounty: A Quick and Easy Guide to Freezing, Canning, and Preserving, and Drying What You Grow by Rodale Food Center; Rodale’s Basic Organic Gardening: A Beginner’s Guide to Starting a Healthy Garden by Deborah L. Martin and Grandma’s Gardens by Hillary & Chelsea Clinton. 

  Warwick Valley Gardeners are a not for profit organization who maintain nine gardens in the Village and Town of Warwick. The Gardeners also decorate Railroad Green for the holidays, award an annual scholarship, and provide Garden Therapy to the residents of a long-term care facility.
