This week, municipalities around the county hosted National Night Out – an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie with a fun, safe, and educational event.
I’m thrilled that for the fourth year in a row, my office has secured funding for every police department around the senate district hosting a National Night Out event. This year, we announced a total of $100,000 -– $10,000 each to Crawford, Highland Falls, Goshen, Middletown, Mount Hope, New Windsor, Port Jervis, Tuxedo, Wallkill, and Warwick. This is in addition to the nearly $5 million my office has secured in just the last two years alone to support the local law enforcement agencies in our community.
Our local police are the backbone of safety in our communities across Orange County, and any effort to build trust between our law enforcement agencies and communities is a win. I’m proud to extend these funds to so many police departments and am always striving to provide our law enforcement and emergency responders with the resources needed to keep our communities safe.
