Dear Warwick Valley CSD Community, Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!
Overall, it has been a busy summer in the district, but why should this summer be any different? After a successful graduation season, we have been working hard on the capital project approved in December of last year, so if it feels like you have seen a lot of trucks and construction vehicles around this summer, you are right. In addition to physical upgrades, teachers have been working on enhancing our academic programs to ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed. We believe that education is a partnership between home and school, so we encourage and welcome open communication and collaboration as we work together to support our students’ growth. As always, we remain committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every student feels valued.
With the passage of the state budget last spring came two major changes that you will see this school year. First, a total school day limitation on the use of internet-enabled devices, which includes smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other devices capable of connecting to the internet and enabling the user to access internet content, including social media applications. Second, we will be providing free breakfast and lunch for all students, funded by New York State. While some might take issue with the former, there is not much to dispute about the latter; however, these were decisions made at the state level and out of local control.
As we move into yet another school year, as a school district and community, it is always beneficial to reflect on the past and look towards the future. In the past decade, we have been extremely successful, and I see no reason to be complacent as we move ahead. The Warwick Valley Central School District has reached milestones that were unthinkable not that long ago, and we have all seen the benefit. We continue to set ourselves apart from all others by going above and beyond for each and every student, and we will continue to be the district that others try to emulate. I continually remind myself of the statement that appears on the signs outside all of our school buildings, “Great Community, Great Schools.” I have never felt that this has been more true because one component of what makes Warwick a unique and great place to live is this school district, and our community plays a key part in this distinction.
Finally, on behalf of the Board of Education, I cannot thank everyone enough for all of their hard work and dedication, not only this summer but throughout the school year. Our Administration, Teachers/Faculty, Building Principals and Associate Principals, support staff, bus drivers, monitors, custodians, facilities staff, PTAs, and volunteers are the ones who make every year a success. Also, a heartfelt thank you to our community, who continue to support our students and schools.
Sincerely, Keith Parsons WVCSD BOE President

At WVMS, we believe a thriving school community is built on trust, collaboration, and respect. I am committed to fostering these values as we begin this new school year. Our school takes great pride in its achievements, and we are eager to build on that success with fresh opportunities for growth and learning. As Principal, my mission is to ensure that WVMS remains a place where academic excellence is paired with character, compassion, creativity, and authentic learning experiences that prepare our students for the world beyond the classroom.
A strong partnership between home and school is essential to student success. I encourage you to stay connected by attending PTA meetings, participating in school events, engaging in parent-teacher conferences, checking the parent portal regularly, and reviewing our monthly updates. Your involvement plays a vital role in creating an environment where every student feels supported, inspired, and motivated to achieve their personal best.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Everyone at Park Avenue is so excited to welcome back our students and to greet the newest additions to our school community, our incoming kindergarteners! As you may already know, the first day of school is Tuesday, September 2, 2025 and this year’s school hours will be 8:55 am to 3:35 pm.
The transition from summer vacation back to school is always stimulating and filled with enthusiasm. Children and adults alike are excited to share stories about their summer adventures and to reconnect with friends and colleagues. From past experience, we know that with each passing day students will acclimate and reacclimate to our school’s rituals and routines, settle into their new class, and start enjoying many learning opportunities. Of course our teachers and staff have been hard at work planning these and preparing to ensure a successful school year.
Our school district’s vision of the Portrait of a Graduate challenges us to cultivate in our students several attributes and dispositions, such as collaboration, communication, and resilience to name a few. I am always amazed to witness how these evolve in our students’ lives from kindergarten through fourth grade. So many of our students arrive at Park Avenue able to demonstrate some ability in one or more of these areas. However, with the hard work of our teachers, all students demonstrate significant growth throughout their journey as they move from one grade to the next. As a team we are committed to creating the conditions where this learning and growth can thrive and to inspire in all of our students a genuine love of learning! I am confident that our partnership will support them along the way and result in a great 2025-2026 school year.
I would like to invite all families to our Meet the Teacher event as well as the PTA’s Ice Cream Social that will take place on Thursday, August 28th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Parents interested in dropping off school supplies can do so during this event.
We look forward to seeing you very soon. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Sincerely, Bill Biniaris Principal, Park Avenue Elementary School

Dear Warwick Valley High School Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I’m excited to welcome both our new and returning families to Warwick Valley High School. To the Class of 2025, congratulations—we are proud of you and wish you the best as you take your next steps. To our incoming Class of 2029, welcome to the high school! We’re so happy to have you join us.
We stand at the beginning of an exciting new year, and I am truly thrilled to embark on this next chapter alongside our exceptional students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. Together, we will continue to explore, grow, and strengthen the spirit of Warwick Valley High School.
This year brings many opportunities for academic and personal growth, and we are especially excited to introduce several new college-level courses designed to provide students with expanded access to challenging, real-world learning experiences. These new offerings reflect our ongoing commitment to providing a rigorous and enriching education that prepares students for success beyond high school.
As we begin this new school year, I encourage each student to embrace the fresh start with energy and optimism. Take on challenges, learn from missteps, and approach each day as an opportunity to discover more about yourself and the world around you.

Talk to them, ask for help, have meaningful conversations, and engage in your learning. Our school counselors are also here to support you with everything from course planning to navigating the challenges of daily high school life.

We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and to a school year filled with learning, connection, and new opportunities. We’re also excited to share that Homecoming will take place on Saturday, September 20—mark your calendars for a day full of school spirit and celebration!
Fondly, Dr. Georgianna Diopoulos, Principal
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!
At the Warwick Valley Central School District, the safety of the students is our first priority. The Transportation Department is busy revising bus routes and analyzing bus stops to ensure the safety and efficiency of student transportation. Continuing our alternative fuel program is very important to us. This school year we will be adding two new propane buses. We could not keep our bus fleet up to date without the support of the community. We are sincerely grateful.
Our talented bus technicians continue to keep our vehicles in top mechanical condition. The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) conducts a thorough inspection every six months. Recently we have achieved an outstanding DOT rating of 97%. Full maintenance on all vehicles occurs every three thousand miles.
Student bus information will be made available in late August through the Parent Portal. Please remember to have your student at the bus stop five minutes prior to their scheduled pick up time. In the beginning of the school year, bus stop times could fluctuate or change. Checking your Parent Portal often is recommended. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s bus ride, please email our office at transportation@wvcsd.org. or call 845-987-3035.
Without exception, bus safety drills are conducted three times a year. The first drill will occur within the first seven days of school. Each drill includes instructions regarding the location and operation of the emergency exits, fire extinguisher, two-way radio, and first aid kit. Drivers also instruct students on what to do in case of an emergency. The bus staff demonstrates safe loading and unloading procedures, seatbelt use, proper conduct while on the bus, and how to exit the bus safely. Mini safety drills are presented prior to every athletic and field trip as well.
In accordance with New York State law, all school buses are equipped with seatbelts for your child’s safety. Seatbelt use is encouraged by our drivers and monitors. Please take a moment to discuss with your student the significance of seatbelt use on the bus. Also, remind them of the urgency of adhering to all bus safety practices.
On behalf of the entire Transportation staff, we wish you a safe and successful school year!
Laura Schneider Supervisor of Transportation Warwick Valley Central School District
