Newburgh, NY
As a result of a months-long investigation by the Orange County Drug Task Force into the sale and possession of narcotics, on 11/07/2025, a court-authorized search warrant was executed at 3 North Hill Lane in the Town of Newburgh, resulting in the seizure of two firearms and a quantity of cocaine.
39-year-old Jack Licausi was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, and one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in or near school grounds. Licausi was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.
38-year-old Daniel Kern was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal contempt 1st degree, and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree. Kern was released with an appearance ticket to return to court on a later date.
The search warrant was executed by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group; with assistance from the, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Newburgh PD, and the Orange County Drug Task Force which is comprised of members of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Orange County District Attorney Investigators, Town of Montgomery Police Department, Town of Woodbury Police Department and the City of Port Jervis Police Department.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation by the police that a defendant has committed a violation of the criminal law, and it is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the State of New York’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
