In 2026, we embark on many new initiatives while also maintaining the existing working practices. To achieve our goals and make progress forward, you first have to set them. When you set goals, expectations become clearer. It pushes you to develop new skills, improve existing ones, and step outside your comfort zone. For 2026, we asked a few members of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office about their goals, resolutions, and desires. I was pleased to hear that they have both personal and professional plans. We are focused and motivated as we move into 2026!
Here are some of my staff’s personal and professional goals for 2026:
- Enhance command presence.
- Improve work-life balance.
- Focus on personal fitness and professional development.
- Promote a more confident professional image while on duty.
- Utilize our awarded grant to welcome a new marine vessel to the Hudson River.
- Increase the OCSO’s visibility and presence throughout the county.
- Strengthen operational technology capabilities.
- Prioritize effective time management.
- Continue to ensure fleet readiness.
- Support operational enhancements through grant funding.
My members’ goals are very important to me. We function as a team, and a team operates effectively only when everyone is united and working toward a common goal. After listening to their aspirations, it’s clear that we all share a common objective: to grow and enhance the Orange County Sheriff’s Office so we can continue to serve the residents of Orange County to the best of our ability.
As Sheriff, I am committed to helping our agency and members reach their full potential and look forward to seeing my team take ownership and accountability for their growth and achieve their goals this year.
