ALBANY – Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C-Deerpark) has received a promotion in the Assembly’s Minority Conference and is now the third highest ranking officer in the organization.
Brabenec was appointed as Assistant Minority Leader by new Assembly Minority Leader Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square).
“It is a true honor to be appointed assistant minority leader and to stand on the front lines of the fight to save New York,” Brabenec said. “I am deeply grateful to Leader Ra for his friendship, his trust and the confidence he has placed in me to serve as one of his top lieutenants in this critical moment for our state. Together with Leader Ra and the entire Republican Conference, I look forward to restoring common sense, opportunity and pride and working tirelessly to make New York the Empire State once again.”
Brabenec, who is serving his sixth term in the Assembly, has previously served as ranking member of the committee on standing committees, overseeing legislative procedures and managing all minority committee operations. Previous to that, he had served as Minority Whip.
“Karl has been an outstanding member of our conference and a respected leader at every level,” Ra said. “He has earned the trust of Leaders Barclay and Kolb, and I’m proud to have him as a key part of my leadership team as Assistant Minority Leader.”
