Anthony Pittman Pled Guilty to Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced that Anthony Pittman, 38, of Middletown, was sentenced in Orange County Court to five (5) years in prison to be followed by three (3) years of post-release supervision relative to his previous guilty plea to Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.
As alleged in documents filed and statements made in court, in May 2025, Pittman sold cocaine on two (2) occasions to an undercover police officer. During the course of the investigation, the police secured a judicially-authorized search warrant for a residence in the City of Middletown. During the execution of the warrant, law enforcement recovered cocaine from Pittman’s person, a quantity of fentanyl and materials used to package narcotics. At the plea proceedings, Pittman admitted to selling cocaine.
District Attorney Hoovler thanked the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) for their investigation which led to the arrest of the defendant.
“The sentence imposed in this case removes a dangerous drug dealer from our streets and makes our community safer,” said District Attorney David M. Hoovler. “Drug dealers should know that law enforcement is dedicated to interrupting their illicit business. We will continue to work tirelessly with our law enforcement partners to identify, prosecute, and incarcerate those who profit from addiction and human suffering.”
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Cassidy Turi.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation that a defendant has committed a violation of the criminal law, and it is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the State of New York’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
