Greenwood Lake, NY — Lion Katherine Callan-Montemarano of the Greenwood Lake Lions Club recently presented a $500 donation to Sandy Newman, Treasurer of the Greenwood Lake Public Library, to support the purchase of Spanish-language children’s books.
The donation includes a $250 contribution from the Greenwood Lake Lions Club, matched dollar-for-dollar through a grant from the Brandel-Murphy Youth Foundation.
These funds will expand the library’s collection of Spanish-language children’s books, helping ensure that young readers and families in the Greenwood Lake community have access to inclusive and culturally diverse literacy resources.
“The Greenwood Lake Lions are proud to support education and literacy in our community,” said Club President’s Arrianna Kafka. “We believe every child deserves to see themselves reflected in the books they read.”
The Greenwood Lake Lions Club continues to partner with local organizations to support youth programs, education initiatives, and community service projects throughout the year.
