It took 10 years to create a beautiful garden alongside the creek here at Creekside Apartments, with absolutely no cost whatsoever to management. The shrubs and flowers bring joy and delight to the seniors who live here and also to visitors. People just love it; it makes one smile and feel good. Old age often brings problems and the view of the garden is uplifting to anyone’s spirits.
And all of this might be gone, for management in its infinite wisdom has decided to turn off the outside water. Just like that. I was informed with a written note at my front door and a phone call and all this in 20 minutes time; amazing speed; no warning. House rules, I was told. Does management make up the so called rules as it goes along?
I have been bailing the water out of the creek in order to save on the water bill. But health reasons and some high lying beds make this task problematic and a challenge.
Now what? Do a collective rain dance, wait for Mother Nature to send precious H2O, get a pump? I could use some help to find a resolution.
P.S. Oh, by the way, I had permission from management to create a garden. Why would anybody in their right mind be willing to let a garden, an oasis of peace and beauty, go to ruins, to die? Because you can and it is shameful, spiteful and shows no consideration at all.
