We always send an acknowledgement to supporters who identify themselves, because two of the most powerful words in the English language are “thank you.” We always want our supporters to know how much we appreciate what they do for the pantry. This letter is for all of those who are anonymous to us.
Thank you to everyone who generously provided for the pantry on Sat., May 13, which was the 25th annual Letter Carriers Drive to Stamp Out Hunger®. USPS letter carriers picked up bags and boxes of food and personal care items from customer mailboxes and brought the parcels to the pantry at the conclusion of their routes.
Thank you to everyone who delivers food and personal care items to the pantry at our home in the Warwick United Methodist Church or who drops in our baskets at ShopRite, Price Chopper, Track 7 Postal Center, Albert Wisner Public Library, and many of the churches around town.
And a very special thank you to a generous donor who recently deposited in the pantry’s mailbox two USPS money orders, each in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000). This will purchase a tremendous quantity of food at Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
We wish that food insecurity and hunger were not widespread and chronic in our middle class community. We who volunteer at the pantry strive to ameliorate those problems and feel blessed to receive such strong and continuing support from our more fortunate neighbors. Thank you!
GLENN P. DICKES, DIRECTOR OF THE WARWICK ECUMENICAL FOOD PANTRY
