Thirteen Career and Technical Education (CTE) students, standouts in their Cisco/CCNA Computer Networking Program, recently placed at the top of their New York State divisions in the 2018 CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. Eleven of the students will be advancing to the regional competitions.
The competition puts teams of students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. In the state competition, three of the BOCES teams took second, third and fifth place in New York State Gold Division. The second place team will advance to the upcoming regional competition. Members of this team include Brandon Turner, a senior at the Warwick Valley High School in Warwick NY.
