Warwick resident Daniel Schiavo, the Community Liaison & Therapeutic Recreation Consultant at the Beacon Place, LLC, recently received a Congressional Recognition from Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney for his work to make the Hudson Valley the “healthiest workforce in New York State,” thanks to Beacon Place who encourages promotional efforts to foster a stronger community. The Beacon Place is a new, premier head injury center that is located in Highland Mills, NY.
Schiavo’s role at the Beacon Place is to build community relationships and connect with local health and human service organizations to advocate for head injury awareness and prevention, as well as create and develop collaborations to fill the long-standing void in the head injuries and mental health communities.
“Beacon Place is a WELCOME Orange organization, which is a collaborative marker in the local mental health community and signifies a coordination and connectedness of all services throughout the county. I attempt to connect with all of the local Rotary Clubs, Lion’s Clubs, Elks Clubs, churches, synagogues, and related civic organizations that perform great work in our local communities,” said Schiavo.
