The 1st Annual Shane Edward Tanzosh Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) Heart Foundation Charity Golf Outing will be held on Fri., Apr. 26 at the Hickory Hill Golf Course, located at 25 Country Park Ln. in Warwick. The outing will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun shot.
Proceeds from the golf outing will go to fund research for a heart condition known as Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy, a rare genetic mutation of the heart which is difficult to detect. Shane Tanzosh died in his 20s of this condition and his parents, Tony and Falecia Tanzosh, of Warwick, said Shane had symptoms throughout his life but normal heart tests did not detect his fatal illness.
In honor of Shane, his parents have created a foundation to contribute funds for research being conducted at Northwestern University. Their goal is to aid in the development of a simple standard screening for early detection.
The cost is $135 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf, a buffet lunch after the tournament, and prize opportunities. For more information on sponsorship packages, to make a donation or to register, visit www.arvcgolf.eventbrite.com.
