The Amity Foundation for Healing with Horses will host its third annual Kentucky Derby Day Party in conjunction with the Committee for War Veterans on Sat., May 4 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the barn at 44 Amity Rd. in Warwick. There will be a $5 admission fee to view the race on a big screen.
The fun-filled event will raise funds to support on-going efforts to help those who have experienced trauma, from veterans to first responders as well as adolescents who bully (and those who have been bullied) recover with the support and assistance of Amity’s horses.
This year, the Committee for War Veterans has joined forces with the Amity Foundation to provide trauma therapy for veterans as well as for their families. Food and beverages will be available for purchase and live music will be provided by local band “Hot Tomato.” Other festivities include a silent auction and Great Dane race.
