Warwick resident and Air Force veteran George Arnott participated in the Hudson Valley Honor Flight on Sat., Apr. 13 along with 82 other veterans. Veterans were cheered by a crowd as they were escorted to an airplane at New York Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, NY. They were then flown to Washington DC where they visited memorials.
Veterans from 13 different tri-state area counties who served in World War II, post-WWII, Korean War, post-Korean War, Vietnam and Desert Storm took the trip.
Arnott served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, from 1959 to 1963. He joined the Warwick Police Department in 1966 and retired as a Sergeant after 37 years of service.
