The Seward/Mapes Homestead Restoration will sponsor a lecture on Thurs., Oct. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. entitled, “The Ghosts of Gettysburg” at the Florida Senior Center, located at 3 Cohen Cir. in Florida.
The presentation by Civil War re-enactor and historian, Carolyn Ivanoff is suitable for all age groups and will be enjoyed by anyone with an interest in the Civil War, the Battle of Gettysburg and the supernatural. Ivanoff will provide an overview and description of the three day battle, along with maps, and contemporary and period photographs.
The highlight of the program will be the ghostly images caught on film. Attendees can decide for themselves if the images are real. Ivanoff will take her audience on a virtual tour of what is claimed to be the most haunted battlefield in the world.
The suggested donation is $10 per person, $15 for two and $1 for students. Light refreshments will be served. Proceeds will support the restoration of the Seward/Mapes Homestead Historic Landmark in Florida.
