Preparations are taking place for the Orange County Volunteer Firemen Association’s (OCVFA) Parade, hosted by the Warwick Fire Department, on Sat., Sept. 28. The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, in conjunction with Dana Distributors, Inc., make an appearance at the parade, which will kick off at 2 p.m.
The Clydesdales have served as the symbol of quality and tradition for Anheuser-Busch since 1933. The eight-horse hitch will be harnessed to the famous red beer wagon. Horses chosen for the Budweiser Clydesdale hitch must be at least three years of age, stand approximately 18 hands – or six feet – at the shoulder, weigh an average of 2,000 pounds, be bay in color, have four white legs, and a blaze of white on the face and black mane and tail.
The route includes: Memorial Park, Forester Ave., Burt St., Park Ave., Park Way, South St., Clinton Ave., Linden Pl., Oakland Ave., Main St., High St., and Forester Ave.
Local businesses are encouraged to decorate their windows, storefronts, and hang flags along the parade route in honor of the Warwick Fire Department’s 150th Anniversary.
