The Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce (WVCC) hosted their 12th annual Community Showcase on Sat., May 4. The event aims to bring local businesses, entrepreneurs, and not-for-profit organizations together to display their products and services to the people and patrons of Warwick.
The historic Railroad Ave. was closed down for walking traffic only and adorned with booths and pop-up tents from the more than fifty local businesses and organizations involved. Local restaurants offered samples of their fare, artisans displayed their work and other businesses promoted themselves by offering games, raffles, and giveaways.
The Warwick Fire Department, in their 150th year of serving the community, offered tours of a fire engine and educated people on proper fire prevention methods.
The Community Showcase provides a platform for businesses and organizations to network with each other and to create potential future collaborative opportunities within the tightly knit community. The WVCC hopes that all participants left the event with innovative ideas and new business contacts and reminds residents to “Be Local, Buy Local.”
