The Seligmann Center, located at 23 White Oak Dr. in Sugar Loaf, will present DUSKLIT, an annual one night art bazaar, on Sat., Jul. 29. Installations and performances will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. and an After Dark Dance Party will be held from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight.
Dusklit is part of the Warwick Summer Arts Festival. Olivia Baldwin and Cody Rounds have curated over 35 art installations and performances that challenge visitors to accept experience, rather than object, as art. At twilight artists from across the country will transform the Seligmann Homestead into a landscape of multisensory environments.
Featuring performance art, music, dance, acting, poetry, and other artistic genres, DUSKLIT projects include elaborate projected environments, sensory deprivation installations, site-specific sound and dance performances, jello catapults, improvisational acting scenarios, and participatory transformations.
The event will be followed by an After Dark Dance Party featuring regional DJs Öberon and Jonathan Strænge. Admission to DUSKLIT is $10 per person. Refreshments by Lil Fry, Vesuvius Brick Oven Pizza, the Ice Mother, and local breweries will be available for purchase.
A free shuttle bus sponsored by West Point Tours will run between the Chester Park and Ride and the Seligmann Center from 5:30 p.m. to 12 midnight. Seligmann Center parking is limited. Additional parking is available at the Sugar Loaf Performing Art Center, located at 1351 Kings Hwy. in Sugar Loaf.
