Amity Gallery, located at 110 Newport Bridge Rd. in Warwick NY, will hold an opening reception on Sat., May 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. for an art exhibit by Roslyn Fassett, Deborah Menzell Dressler and Linda Winton. The exhibit will be on display in May on Sat. and Sun. from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
During the exhibit, Menzell Dressler will offer flocks of sculpted birds looking out at the universe. Her sense of the spiritual in nature is gently revealed in her carvings of birds, which she offers as solitary creatures and united within a group.
Winton’s watercolors and pastels reflect the momentary eloquence of a landscape. While painting, Winton tries to let go of past associations. She returns to the present moment and the life in the form of a tree, and the inscrutability of the rocks.
A playful, surreal collage grouping women on and above the earth is conceived by Fassett, who is an artist that studied at Cooper Union. She has exhibited her artwork in the Atlantic and Prince Street Galleries.
