The Hoboken International Film Festival (HIFF) begins its 13th year with a star-studded Opening Night Celebration at 6:30 p.m. on Fri., May 18 at the Thomas Morahan Waterfront Park, located at 5 Windermere Ave. in Greenwood Lake, NY.
The evening will begin with celebrities and filmmakers walking the red carpet and enjoying top-shelf hors d’oeuvres/desserts and cocktails on the lakefront beach. Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Louis Gossett, Jr. best known for his roles in “An Officer and a Gentleman,” “Diggstown,” “Iron Eagle” and “Roots,” will accept the Festival’s 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award in Acting.
After the worldwide premiere music video – “In the Building (HIFF Theme Song),” which is being released by Sony/Orchard Red – the evening culminates with the premiere screening of “Never Heard,” a roller coaster criminal suspense about a man wrongfully convicted of murder and his son’s destiny to lead a life guided by criminals, his family and/or God. The film stars David Banner, Robin Givens, Romeo Miller, Karrueche Tran, Dorien Wilson, Brian White, Karen Abercrobie, and Master P – with many of the movie’s stars being in attendance.
HIFF will showcase a wide array of controversial, star-filled, internationally and locally-produced films throughout the week of Fri., May 18 to Thurs., May 24.
