On the occasion of Susanne Meyer-Fitzsimmons’ 5th book award for DEEP LIVING: Healing Yourself To Heal The Planet, Ye Olde Warwick Book Shoppe, located at 31 Main St. in Warwick, is hosting a book signing on Sun., Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The trend toward shopping locally is gaining traction, especially in a charming place like Warwick. Holiday shopping in this picturesque little historic village is a delightful experience, complete with free horse and buggy rides, the shops sparkling with holiday decorations, and the streets decked out in lights and festive evergreen.
Shopping locally ensures a vibrant downtown and community, and the stores support the local economy through taxes, events, donations and community participation. Independent bookstores are on the rise after years of decline. Ye Olde Warwick Book Shoppe has become a destination, a community hub, and a community builder through its numerous events and its affiliation with the local library and school district.
This small independent bookstore offers personalized service, a magical atmosphere, many gift items, and a comprehensive antiquarian selection, in addition to its numerous literary events. The store manager, Maria Stasolla, is passionate about books.
“Nothing can transport you the way books do. When you read you become the story, and stories create magic,” said Stasolla.
Meyer-Fitzsimmons, a Warwick resident of twenty-five years, who also offers workshops, retreats and talks, is a Deep Living guide who is passionate about living in harmony with the planet, quality of life, the healing process, amongst many issues.
