The Albert Wisner Public Library (AWPL), located at 1 McFarland Dr. in Warwick, will kick off festivities on Sat., Jun. 15 at 9 a.m., rain or shine, with a Family Fun Walk to celebrate their 10th year in the McFarland Dr. building. Participants will gather on the Library’s River Birch Patio where the walk will begin. Walking on the Library’s trail past the Storywalk exhibit, the participants will follow a marked path through the new Village trail that parallels McFarland Dr. and into Memorial Park to Forester Ave. and then return by the same route.
Joining in the fun will be Village of Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard, AWPL Director Rosemary Cooper, and many of the members of the Friends of the Library. This walk is easy and non-competitive, meant for participants of all ages. At the conclusion of the walk everyone will share in refreshments and receive a commemorative sticker.
The new Albert Wisner Public Library officially opened its doors at 1 McFarland Dr. on November 15, 2009. Through the summer and fall months the Library will present a series of programs and events for all ages celebrating the anniversary as the community’s “favorite place to meet, discover, learn and connect.”
The Library invites the entire community to join them for this fun kick-off event. Participants are asked to register online at www.alberbertwisnerlibrary.org, to call the Library at 986-1047, ext. 3, or to register in person at the Library.
