Author CJ Casciotta, of Franklin, TN, formerly of Warwick, has written a book that celebrates the trials of being different in a nation that puts a premium on sameness and mediocrity. In the book, Get Weird, Discover the Surprising Secret to Making a Difference, published by Hachette Book Group, Casciotta offers simple ways to unleash a person’s creativity and individuality.
The father of two, who was bullied as a teenager, celebrates “The Weird” as a key to changing an individual’s life. He cites the genius of Martin Luther, Martin Luther King, Jr., Jesus, Harriet Tubman, Charles Schultz, and Walt Disney.
The author writes in the book, “As early as fourth grade I had learned my lesson: stick out and you’ll regret it. Most of us get ‘The Weird’ kicked out of us before we ever really get a chance to cultivate it for good.”
Casciotta capitalized on his unique talents to become an international speaker and media consultant.
