The Greenwood Lake Gaelic Cultural Society hosted their third annual Celtic Day Celebration on Sun., Feb. 24. The Irish Heritage Day event took place at the Arthur Finnegan American Legion Post #1443 in Greenwood Lake.
The event began at 1 p.m. and drew a large crowd as families and friends enjoyed corned beef and cabbage, beverages, desserts and more while listening to music from DJ Ryguy, watching performances from Big Paddy, The West Point Pipe and Drums, and the Sheahan-Gormley School of Irish Dance. Children were seen dancing to music, tricky trays and raffles were held, and an Irish soda bread competition were just some of the fun and exciting events that took place during the afternoon event.
Gaelic Cultural Society President Katheleen Holder said, “This is such a great event celebrating Irish Heritage. A big thank you to all our club members who worked so hard and tirelessly throughout the day, especially Maureen Mulcahy, Jason Fox and Gail Edmonds, who coordinated the event. We are looking forward to our St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance on Sat., Mar. 2 where we will be celebrating Jack Gallagher as Celt of the Year.”
The St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance will take place on Sat, Mar. 2 from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Arthur Finnegan American Legion Post 1443, located at 40 Mountain Lakes Ln. in Greenwood Lake. Tickets are $40 per person for a dinner, beverages, and great music and fun.
