It was glitz and glamour in Greenwood Lake on Thurs., May 23 as the Kenneth Del Vecchio’s Hoboken International Film Festival (HIFF) held its Oscar-style Gala Awards Ceremony at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park.
With stars walking the red carpet in gorgeous gowns and elaborate suits, there was no shortage of excitement over the crowded event. Acclaimed comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried hosted the awards, which included five nominees in each of 17 categories.
“I am so thrilled to be here, I may faint,” Gottfried joked.
Three’s Company star Joyce Dewitt was beaming with beauty and pride as she commented on the inclusion of films from across America and 24 countries.
“This is just a wonderful night to sit with great people and enjoy and embrace cinema,” she said.
Actress Judie Aaronson said, “There really are so many great entries tonight, but only one can win.”
Long time comedian Jackie Martling was positively dapper as he expressed his support.
“I love seeing the stars of yester-years and of tomorrow, and I love everything about show biz,” said Martling. “I’m not stopping.’ I hope the day I die, I’m late for a show.”
Baywatch star Gena Lee Nolin shared her passionate sentiments on being a part of the film industry and seemed equally inspired by the local scenery.
“I really love Greenwood Lake and I may just have to buy a house here,” she said.
The evening was highlighted by Jason London’s acceptance of the 2019 HIFF Excellence in Acting Award. For a complete list of winners, visit www.hobokeninternationalfilmfestival.com.
