Greenwood Lake Theater presents Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s Tony award-winning musical “Into The Woods,” on Fri., Aug. 9 and Sat., Aug. 10, 7:30 p.m. and Sun., Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. at Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park, 7 Windermere Ave. in Greenwood Lake, NY (rain venue: Warwick Valley Community Center, 11 Hamilton Ave. in Warwick).
A second weekend of performances will be held on Fri., Aug. 16 and Sat., Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Warwick Valley Community Center, 11 Hamilton Ave. in Warwick.
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
