The Albert Wisner Public Library, located at 1 McFarland Dr. in Warwick, will host Valerie Lucznikowska on Wed., Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. who will give lecture about the United States military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Having visited the prison she will discuss its history, who is/was detained and how they got there, the evolving new system of military justice, current trials, the cost of the prison and more. In light of the new administration she will also discuss what the future may hold for Guantanamo.
Lucznikowska is a retired public relations and marketing executive in international policy, economics and finance and an artist. She is a Warwick resident and advocates for closing the prison and moving legal proceedings to federal courts.
