Three Warwick residents will offer their expertise to the community in programs coming up at the Albert Wisner Public Library, located at 1 McFarland Dr. in Warwick.
Body Breath and Voice
Body Breath and Voice with Jody Weatherston will be held on Sat., Apr. 13 and Sat., Apr. 20 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 am. Leading the vocalist to greater awareness of and mastery over their instrument, these classes with Jody Weatherstone are a unique and powerful blend of gentle yoga, breath work, mindfulness, and sounding for singers, actors, teachers, speakers, and anyone wanting more comfort, ease, and confidence in using their voice. The voice is the seat of self-expression, personal connection, and intention.
No prior singing experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothing for movement, bring a yoga mat and be prepared to make some noise. Register for each workshop separately.
Organic Gardener’s Foes or Friends
Gar Wang will present the Organic Gardener’s Foes or Friends on Sat., Apr. 13 from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Join Gar for a discussion of the soil in your garden and the creatures that call it home.
Insects and microorganisms abound in a healthy garden and are, in fact, critical to the life cycle of plant growth and food production. To achieve a balanced ecosystem, one must first identify beneficial insects and provide a habitat for them to thrive in. Microorganisms, often imperceptible to the naked eye, also play an essential role in the health of the garden.
Creative Aging Workshops
Creative Aging Workshops with Dan Mack will be held on Wed., Apr. 17, Wed., Apr. 24 and Wed., May 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Continuing his presentations on Creative Aging, Daniel Mack hosts a series of one-hour workshops for people interested in developing creative approaches to the challenges of aging.
After a brief introduction, people in the workshop are invited to explore several stations of tools and materials. Each workshop closes with specific suggestions for similar activity at home. Register for each workshop separately.
Programs at the Library are free and open to the Warwick community. To attend any of the programs call the Library at 986-1047, ext. 3 or register online at www.albertwisnerlibrary.org.
