Sat., Jul. 6, the Village of Greenwood Lake will be celebrating our nation’s independence.
The day begins with a parade down Windermere Ave., led by our 2019 Citizens of the Year, Colleen and Jim Reilly. The parade lineup is along Waterstone Rd. in front of the ambulance building and will march north on Windermere to Fitzula’s Gift Shop on Willow Le.
After a day of BBQs and boating, residents and guests will get a glimpse of Orange County’s BEST fireworks display over beautiful Greenwood Lake. The best places to enjoy the show, which begins at 9:15 p.m., are at one of our many amazing lakefront restaurants. You may also view the fireworks for free at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park. There will be a DJ beginning at 7 p.m. at the beach.
We are doing something new this year – the fireworks will be choreographed to patriotic music during the entirety of the show! We have partnered with WTBQ Radio out of Warwick to broadcast the music on their radio station 93.5 fm/1110am or streamed live at WTBQ.com. You can tune in at your home, on your boat or listen at the beach and the music will play with the show!
Thank you to our friend, Matt Barile, from the Rock Underground Music School of G.L. for putting together the amazing track this year. I would also like to thank Elena from Greenwood Lake Marina for her support and assistance with additional docks for our “floating island” fireworks display!
If the show is cancelled for bad weather, the rain date is the following Sat., July 13. There will NOT be a rain date for the parade.
