Orange & Rockland Main Replacement Update
Orange & Rockland continues to perform necessary work to their mains that run under Village roads. At this point, they are more than halfway through with this year’s projects. They still have some services to tap into for Laurel and Myrtle then they are moving onto Maple and Church Streets. The cost share agreement we negotiated with Orange & Rockland will allow complete paving of the streets where they cut out for road openings – that paving work will be done next summer. If you have any issues with the work that is being done or how your property is left, please reach out to Village Hall and we will make sure any issues are resolved immediately. O&R as well as their contractors have done a great job so far.
The Village of Greenwood Lake continues to work with the NY DEC and G.L Lake Commission to monitor any potential Hazardous Algae. At this time, there remains NO active or reported HABs in the New York end of Greenwood Lake.
The above column, written by Village of Greenwood Lake Mayor Jesse Dwyer, has been published in the Aug. 28 issue of the Warwick Valley Dispatch.
