Last year Greenwood Lake hosted its first ever regional “pond hockey” tournament and it was an amazing success! With 24 teams coming from all over the northeast to play on the ice of Greenwood Lake, we can confidently say we had one of the best pond hockey style tournaments of the northeast.
This year, we are expecting well over double the number of teams playing and even more spectators enjoying the winter-time excitement. The event will be stretched over two days – Feb. 9 and Feb. 10, and will be located on the East Arm of Greenwood Lake. We intend to close down Waterstone road during this time as we are expanding this event to be more of a festival and want to be sure spectators remain safe.
If you are interested in entering a team, email firstname.lastname@example.org. The cost is $450 per team. All costs associated with the event including insurance and police presence for ice safety are covered by the tournament proceeds.
Christmas Tree Pickup in the Village
The Village’s refuse contractor will be picking up Christmas trees in the Village starting this week and will pick up through the last week of January. Pickup will be Monday and Thursday depending on which side of the Village you live in.
