The Repair Café is coming to the Albert Wisner Public library, located at 1 McFarland Dr., with two special programs. Fixperts will teach participants how to repair their torn textiles and clothing and sharpen their knives and scissors.
Mending Matters! Bring your torn textiles and get advice on how to mend them from Repair Café sewing “fixperts” on Sat., Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to noon. Learn how to stitch, patch, repair and repurpose clothes, even wool sweaters. See demos of decorative “visible mending,” hand and machine sewing techniques, and how to release a stuck zipper.
Join Repair Café “fixperts” to learn how to sharpen and care for knives of all shapes and sizes & scissors, excluding serrated blades on Sat., Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. during a knife sharpening class.
To attend these programs, register online at www.albertwisnerlibrary.org or call the Library’s Help Desk at 986-1047 ext. 3.
