Approximately 750 long-stemmed roses will be given to Warwick seniors this month by members of the Warwick Valley Rotary Club, whose motto is “Service above Self.” The tribute to the seniors as valued community citizens is being done in conjunction with the Village of Warwick’s Sesquicentennial (150th) Anniversary and also highlights the rose as the official flower of Warwick.
Under the leadership of Rose Chair Laura Barca, Warwick Rotarians have been selling roses to family, friends and business associates to share with loved ones and employees. Stan Martin, past president of the Warwick Rotary Club, is coordinating the rose donations to seniors.
Roses will be distributed to residents of Liberty Green, Devon Woods, Mount Alverno Assisted Living Center, Schervier Pavilion, Burt Farms and Creekside Apartments.
