Our first new construction project at the Warwick Tech Park broke ground this week. iAnthus/Citiva Medical is constructing a 40,000 sq. ft. facility that will create well-paying jobs and bring tax revenue to our Town. This is an international firm that is a perfect fit for the site. With the streetlights recently refurbished, the opening of the Beautiful People complex, several other pending projects and increased use of the surrounding beautiful Wickham Woodlands, the former prison is well on its way to returning as an asset for our Town. Stay tuned!
I just returned from the annual conference of the NYS Municipal Worker’s Compensation Alliance where I serve as a Board Member and Treasurer. The Comp. Alliance is the largest member self-insured Worker’s Compensation provider in the State. Our Town is a member, along with 280 other municipalities and we have saved hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars since joining. Through aggressive safety programs, employee teamwork and claims management the Comp. Alliance has kept the plan fully funded and rates stable. We are proud to be members.
It is that time again for senior citizens in our Town to get their tickets to our annual Senior BBQ to be held this year on Tues., Aug. 28. This event is FREE to any senior citizen residing in the Town of Warwick, thanks to the generous donations of so many community service organizations, our veterans’ groups, the Warwick Valley Rotary, and the support of many volunteers. A fun-filled day kicks off at 11 a.m. at Union Corners Park.
