The Hudson Valley Jazz Festival is celebrating its ninth year of the American musical art called jazz from Thurs., Aug. 9 through Sun., Aug. 12. This series is about highlighting the region’s deep resource of jazz talent.
While the better known marquee names of Arturo O’Farrill, Dave Liebman, Wallace Roney, Lenny White and Buster Williams have all participated, it’s about neighbors and participating venues that support live jazz, which distinguishes this festival from the hundreds nationwide. From swing bands to modern improvisation to be bop to classic song book material, there’s something for everyone.
It’s the collaborative nature of the programming that makes it all feasible. The Village of Warwick Concert Series, Iron Forge Inn, Courtyard Music Series, Warwick Conference Center, Warwick Center for The Performing Arts and of course the jazz festival itself all produce shows.
