The Warwick Art League (WAL) will present a Basic Perspective Drawing demonstration by Catherine Pierson De Cesare on Sun., Jun. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Warwick Senior Center, located at 132 Kings Hwy. in Warwick.
The program is intended to give the artist an understanding of basic one-point and two-point perspective. Using pencil, triangle and graphpaper, attendees will begin to understand basic concepts needed to enhance city and landscape plein air drawings and paintings. The demonstration and exercises will be taught on the usefulness in understanding the horizon line and vanishing point.
This class is appropriate for beginners or advanced students. Grid paper will be supplied. Artists should bring sharp pencils (HB is good), a sharpener, an eraser, and a triangle.
Catherine Pierson De Cesare is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City with a BFA in Illustration. Her architectural rendering career began while living in Alexandria, VA. There she was commissioned to draw historic sites and homes and soon developed her personal style and her understanding of perspective. Besides architectural drawing, she illustrates fashion and figure painting.
WAL members are free and the cost is $10 for non-members. Refreshments will be served. To R.S.V.P., send an email to email@example.com.
