The Warwick Children’s Book Festival will be held on Sat., Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Railroad Ave. in Warwick. In the event of rain, the Festival will be held at the Warwick Valley Middle School gymnasium, located at 225 West St. in Warwick.
In addition to meeting and purchasing books from about 70 children’s book authors and illustrators, visitors will enjoy the Uncle Brothers children’s concert at 12 p.m., crafts for children, and the opportunity for children to read to therapy dogs.
The Warwick Children’s Book Festival is an annual event presented by the Albert Wisner Public Library. It is sponsored by Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes, generous and longtime benefactors of the Library, and the Village of Warwick, with additional support from the Warwick Valley Farmers’ Market and ShopRite of Warwick.
Author/Illustrator David Kirk
Author/illustrator David Kirk is the creator of the beloved Miss Spider series of books and Nickelodeon television series, all of which began with the iconic “Miss Spider’s Tea Party” (now 25 years old!). Mr. Kirk has written and illustrated over a dozen other children’s books as well, drawing on his 1950s childhood in the suburbs of Ohio, where he learned about small creatures, insects, and art.
