The Warwick Fire Department (WFD) responded to 79 calls for service to date as of Sun., Mar. 10.
On Sat., Mar. 9, the WFD Fire Prevention Team attended the Sanfordville Elementary School Student Enrichment Program training, hosted by the Sanfordville PTA. The future junior firefighters were taught fire safety skills and what it’s like to be a firefighter. The junior firefighters were issued certificates, helmets, and gifts upon completion of the class. Thanks to the Warwick Valley School District, the PTA, and most of all to the kids who requested to take this course so that one day they could become a firefighter.
On Sun., Mar. 10, the Warwick Fire Department Color Guard, led by firefighter Kevin Columba, attended the Annual Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Goshen. The WFD would like to thank the parade committee for the invite and the parade goers for all of their support.

Fire Prevention Report
Please remember as everyone springs forward with the change of their clocks to change batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors including hard wired or battery back-up systems. If detectors do not have a manufacture date, or are 10 years old or older, they should be replaced. The lives of family members depend on these detectors. Please follow Safety tips online at www.NFPA.ORG or by following the Warwick Fire Department on Facebook.
