The Warwick Fire Department (WFD) responded to 167 calls for service to date as of Mon., May 20 ending a busy week for firefighters.
On Mon., May 13 the fire companies held weekly apparatus checks and company drills including an operational hand-lines, forcible entry, and ladder operations at Station 4 in the Wickham Woodlands. On Thurs., May 16 they held their monthly Department Extrication Drill at Spechts Garage on Covered Bridge Rd. Thanks goes to the Spechts family for their continued support to the WFD.
House Fires & Mutual Aid
On Fri., May 17 the WFD responded to a working house fire for one of their own. Everyone’s thoughts and prayers are with the family. Please help by going to the Go Fund Me page on the WFD’s Facebook page – Warwick NY Fire Department. Also during the fire a member of one of the mutual aid departments suffered a medical emergency. The WFD sends their thoughts and prayers to their brother from the Pine Island Fire Department.
On Sat., May 18 the WFD was requested to provide a mutual aid Engine to standby by at the Vernon Fire Department Headquarters, while they operated at a structure fire in Hardyston NJ. Engine Company 3 responded and provided coverage.
On Sun., May 19 the WFD was requested to provide mutual aid with their ladder truck to the City of Middletown Central Fire House for City coverage while Middletown operated at multiple calls in their jurisdiction. The Goodwill Hook & Ladder Company provided coverage.
Also on May 19 the WFD responded to another working house fire due to the home being struck by lightning. The WFD remained on scene until their return to service around 430 a.m. Please pray for this family.
