The Warwick Valley VFW Post #4662 announces the opening of their new location at 10 Colonial Ave. in the Bradner Building in Warwick. The VFW Center is now open for veterans to stop in with inquiries and for assistance in accessing benefits. They will be scheduling special events and seminars in the near future which will address relevant issues for veterans, in particular PTSD, continuing education and counseling.
On Sun., Dec. 31, the VFW braved the snow and bitter cold and drew the winning ticket for their first really big 50/50 raffle. The prize of $1,438 went to Katie Byrne. Proceeds will be used to assist local military/veterans in need.
